Scientists in the Genetic Epidemiology Research Institute (GERI) engage in a broad array of interdisciplinary research efforts consistent with our institute’s mission.
GERI members have faculty appointments in more than 30 campus departments across eight UC Irvine schools. A number of our scientists are experts recognized by the National Academy of Sciences and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
In addition, there are a wide range of interdisciplinary research collaborations between GERI members owing to the diverse scientific and clinical interests of our faculty researchers and associates.
How do I join?
Application for membership in our dynamic institute is open to all UC Irvine faculty members who have a demonstrable research interest in the genetic basis of health and disease.
GERI memberships are for an initial three-year term, with reappointments extended as appropriate upon review. Guidelines and a membership application are available to download. GERI's scientific council reviews membership activity and research participation on an annual basis.
