Scientists

GERI scientists engage in a broad array of interdisciplinary research efforts consistent with our institute’s mission. GERI members have faculty appointments in more than thirty campus departments across eight UC Irvine schools. A number of GERI scientists are recognized experts by the National Academy of Science and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). There are a wide range of interdisciplinary research collaborations between GERI members owing to the diverse scientific and clinical interests of our faculty researchers and associates.

How do I Join?

Application for membership in the dynamic Genetic Epidemiology Research Institute (GERI) is available to all UC Irvine Faculty who have a demonstrable research interest in the genetic basis of health and disease. GERI memberships are for an initial three-year term with reappointments extended as appropriate upon review. Guidelines and a membership application are available to download. The GERI Scientific Council reviews membership activity and research participation on an annual basis.
